Magnetic separation processes are useful to separate iron and metallic substances from dry particulate, liquids, and slurries like grain, mineral, chemical, feed, sugar, cereal, plastics, pharmaceuticals, and recycled products.
Magnetic separators are preferred for applications in which tramp iron occurs frequently or the installation position would make it difficult and inconvenient to collect iron substances from static magnets. The system consists of equipment like a permanent magnet, rotating type drum magnet, hopper magnet, and magnetic grill. Magnetic separators are used to remove iron particles from free-flowing material.
